Customs and Border Protection (CBP)   

  • The Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) held its June public meeting. Updates were given by The Next Generation Facilitation Subcommittee, The Intelligent Enforcement Subcommittee, The Secure Trade Lanes Subcommittee, and the Rapid Response Subcommittee. 
  • CBP announced several key transitions among the senior leadership team. 
  • The ACE Currency Exchange Rates enhancement was deployed to the ACE Production environment (PROD) on June 10, and the agency subsequently retired the ACS Currency Exchange Rates.

United States Trade Representative (USTR)   

  • USTR to Hold Stakeholder IPEF Listening Session for Fourth Negotiating Round
  • United States to Participate in Fourth Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Negotiating Round in South Korea
  • United States Seeks Mexico’s Review of Alleged Denial of Workers’ Rights at Mexican Garment Facility

Department of Commerce  

  • U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and UK Secretary of State for Science, Innovation, and Technology the Rt Hon Chloe Smith MP issued a joint statement on the announcement that both countries have committed in principle to establish a data bridge
  • Initiation of Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Administrative Reviews
  • Preliminary results of antidumping duty administrative review: 
  • Continuation of antidumping duty orders: 
  • Preliminary affirmative determination of sales at less than fair value – gas powered pressure washers from Vietnam
  • Final Results of antidumping duty administrative review: welded steel pipe from Oman
  • The President’s Export Council (Council) will hold a meeting to deliberate on recommendations related to promoting the expansion of U.S. exports.
  • The International Trade Administration announced a roundtable discussion with U.S. industry representatives and U.S. government officials on the hydrogen industry.
  • Commerce and ITA announced one upcoming trade mission that will be recruited, organized, and implemented by ITA. This mission is: Executive-Led Cybersecurity Business Development Mission to Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan—September 18–26, 2023.
  • The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (REEEAC or the Committee) will hold an in-person meeting, accessible to the public in-person and online, on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, DC. 
  • Published notice in the Federal Register amending the antidumping duty order on truck and bus tires from the People’s Republic of China (China).
  • Notice of scheduling of full reviews on revocation of countervailing and antidumping orders on circular welded pipe from Turkey, Brazil, India, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey. 

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) reminds brokers, filers, forwarders, carriers, and other members of the importing community that an APHIS Core Message Set for clearance must be filed prior to moving cargo to Plant Inspection Stations (PIS) for inspection.

Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)

  • BIS Adds 43 entities under 50 entries to the Entity List in Response to Human Rights Abuses, Contributions to Ballistic Missile Programs, and Training People’s Liberation Army Pilots on Western Aircraft

The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)    

  • OFAC issued general licenses to Iran, Venezuela, and Syria related to the provision of humanitarian assistance and trade to combat COVID-19
  • OFAC to retire its FTP server (OFACFTP.treas.gov) on or about June 10, 2024

Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) 

  • FMC issued a Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (SNPRM) that proposes how the FMC would implement the prohibition on common carriers unreasonably refusing available cargo space to shippers. 

The Congressional Executive Commission on China

  • CECC Chairs issued a statement regarding DHS’s announcement of additions to the UFLPA entity list saying the additions are a “step in the right direction” but urging more robust enforcement.
